How many times have you seen a thread about any of that and how popular is it?

We could just lump it into the "Unpopular activities" sub-forum.

There are many types of climbing competitions: Bouldering, red point, on-sight, and speed climbing and a few. A lot of these climbing competitions take place indoors, so making a great outdoors forum would not work, it would need to be a extreme sports forum.



Your argument is invalid, all sports have something to do with health and fitness.
But, if you want to have that kind of perspective, maybe we should move American football to the "movies and entertainment" forum... since its basically just a show for rednecks and american sheep who likes whatever is "popular".

sorry kiddies, but this is not a high school popularity contest, the fact of the matter is that climbing is a sport, and one the most extreme sports that there is.
competitive climbing is starting to really take off as a sport though~ you'll be seeing more of this sport in the near future.



just in case any one is interested in learning more about competitive climbing, http://www.ifsc-climbing.org/ is the link to the international climbing federations website, everything needed to know about the sport is there.

There will never be enough people interested on this site to warrant an entire sub-forum for stuff like this. "Extreme sports" or "Outdoor sports" are the only real possibilities, but even then, nobody is going to be talking about rock climbing or "red pointing." It's fine that you like this kind of stuff, but you shouldn't think that it's very popular in the jsp(Or any) community.

there is no competition, just people scaling stupid shit.
there should however be a paintball sub forum
