what is park vs all-mountain vs free ride

park is like going into the terrain park and hitting rails (jibbing) and jumps and stuff..all mountain is ur jack of all trades all around board thats a little stiffer but handles bigger jumps and landings and is more stable at higher speeds (groomers, big kickers, pipe), free ride is ur pure speed powder board really (longer and stiffer)..generally the park boards are shorter and softer so better for spins and tricks and easier to learn on.

more based off weight and what kind of riding you want to do (park vs all-mountain vs free ride). there are tons of great brands out there lib tech, gnu, burton, bataleon, ride, captia, forum, arbor, nitro...i would suggest demoing if you can

He pretty much hit the brands head on. I would just like to add, spend alot of money on nice bindings. Most people blow all their money on the board and get poor bindings which will end up being even worse than having good bindings and a bad board.

i see thanks for the tips going again in march

oh
if i decide to buy a board
how will i know which size i get?
does it depend on ur weight/height?
which brand is good?

boards when knew have a wieght range on the spec sheet. i like to be right in the middle of the range, sometimes on the light end cuz i like to ride real fast and so a stiffer board helps in that.

im 5'9 145 and i ride a 156cm burton custom as my main board and a 153 lib tech skate bannana as my "fuck around" board for urban riding etc.
