disappointing first game. at least it's unlikely to repeat. whom are you guys rooting for?

also jerry streams live (4:30am eastern US)

i'm hoping to see a kings indian classical and maybe a sicilian dragon yugoslav attack.

The last four games have definitely been more interesting, with the two last ones being decisive aswell.
It's looking good for Carlsen but for the sake of the match I am hoping that Anand will be able to put up some more resistance to Magnus' endgame grinding.

Watching Jerry's stream while I can but for us Europeans the time schedule is less then optimal to say the least.

Also excited about what types of opening choices Anand will opt for now seeing the results he has had so far, especially with the white pieces.

iirc the prize fund is ~2.5 million, winner gets 60% and loser gets 40%. but i could be wrong

isn't it a bit more convenient for europeans than americans? iirc it starts around 11am vs 4am. would prefer a 6pm match so i can see it after work, but what can you do eh

i'm sure anand will keep playing his ruy if possible. i'm not sure he can afford to play d4 like he tried against kramnik. carlsen will be expecting it more than kramnik did. a kings gambit would be an interesting mixup.

oh man Nf1. blunder of the championship when theres a second queen on the board. so anand has to win all 3 of the next games to keep fighting. not happening. carlsen's the next champion
