I've heard some amazing things in regards to a Tippmann 98 Custom paintball gun for woods ball. I'm not sure how often I'll be using it but atleast once or twice a month with some friends. I'm a complete beginner, I've played once before and have no gear of my own whatsoever. So that being said I know I want the tippmann for durability but is there anything else on the market that is of cheaper price? If so what can compare to such a good beginning gun? I'm looking to spend about 300$ tops on gear and equipment. Here's the gun:

and the gun by itself
http://www.tippmannparts.com/Tippmann-98-Custom-Platinum-Series-Ultra-Basic-Gun-p/8974.htm

I'm guessing the gun doesn't come with a flat barrel? As myself being a new player I don't know necessary add-ons for a paintball gun for it to be efficient or even most of the lingo that goes along with it.
I'd like gear that is most compatible for woods ball and if possible speed ball, since the parks I got to have a variety, mostly speed ball but I'm interested in the opposite for the most part.

its really not much better...

just buy reading up a bit..

the A5 pros are

FBPS
easier to clean
cyclone feed causes less jamming

Cons:

c02 whore
less accuracy (stock barrel)
loud

im not trying to bash the A5 in any way....i was SO close from getting it instead. I think the c02 aspect of it made me unattractive to it.

If you want to go with the ultra basic i suggest not getting the listed package and instead get the "gold package" upgrade...that way you'll have a 20oz tank

my 98C pro is arriving tomorrow.

the 98 can be modded just as much as the a5 and you can get an etrigger for a LOT cheaper
