It depends what you are good at basically

I'd recommend you read up on bankroll management though, it's vital when playing for real money assuming you don't want to go broke.
Best advice right here really.
So I not spam, uhh...For a general starting rule of thumb: I don't like to put more of 10% of my bank at stake in a cash game or on a tourney's entry.
Do NOT play when you're tired or angry/upset (or drunk/under the "influence").
Keep in mind that only after like 1000 games will you get a feel for where your "game" is at...So say you either win or lose right of the bat for awhile, don't think you "suck" nor don't think you're "pro".
Take a look at what games you have lost/profited in, your ROI and stake level and see your mistakes and your "winning" plays.
Try to keep in mind both of what kind of players you were playing and what "style" you were playing. (Loose, aggro, tight, mixed and if you combo'd those styles and what situations you did)
EZ stuff, hm?

GL!
