Due to server issues I haven't nearly played the game as much, but players who already advanced to endgame usually chose SSF system.
It seems to be better since the loot rewards are plentiful, especially when there is only few people able to trade goods.
Later on in the league I might see it when server issues are fixed and people are looking for extremely rare items to exchange.

Afaik you can choose between Circle of Fortune and Merchant's Guild when you play online.
Offline is Circle of Fortune only.
