It doesn't matter.

The sub/dub debate has been pointless for the last 15 years and the decision should come down to what you prefer, and nothing else.

In the past dubbed shows would often add shit in or change things entirely and by doing this, they would change an entire character's persona or plot points. As this hasn't been a factor for over a decade now, it's only people who want to pretend like they're superior who scream sub is better than dub. Dubs are often written A LOT better than their subbed counterparts, but for some shows the absolutely perfect original cast can not be replicated in English and the sub is superior.

Watch whichever one you like more because it doesn't matter. Both are good.

I'm hoping that when you say you're watching FMA, that you mean FMAB. FMA was based off the source material, but rather than putting the show on hiatus when it caught up to the manga, they just started making shit up and while the show is overall enjoyable, it's unfinished and left a bad taste in my mouth. I'd still recommend watching it, but know that FMAB is easily superior as it follows the source material and actually has a conclusion.

Well, is it called Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood or Full Metal Alchemist lol.... These are completely different shows. They have the same beginning (as they both followed the manga to start), but FMA drops off hard pretty quickly while FMAB keeps getting better and better until the end. The end is a bit cheesy, but it's a pretty awesome all around moment.

e: The original has 51 episodes iirc and FMAB has 64.

FMAB

Nice. Enjoy! Sub/Dub are both amazing, I've watched it in both once and I've watched it dubbed a few times as background noise to fall asleep to or while studying.
