So I finally got around to watching this and man was I impressed.

I don't usually cry in TV shows, movies etc.. but the fucking ending to the Chimera Ant Arc had tears streaming.

I just wanted to say thanks to this sub. I probably would have never watched it had I not seen it on so many of your lists. I'm still trying to talk my brother into watching it, he can't get over how "kiddy" it looks.

I've actually got a few episodes left in the chairman arc (no spoilers please). I just couldn't believe how fucking good this show was. From start to finish, it just got better and better. One of those ones that I'll recommend to anyone and everyone who watches anime. Not a ton of fanservice (which I love), great character development on villains and heroes and an overall impressive story. I don't even remember the last time a show blew me away like this.

get your brother to watch the original, the art style doesnt look kiddy in that one.
then once hes hooked, have him switch to 2011 when the original ends.

I think it was just the cover artwork that he thought looked kiddy (which it does). I told him about some of the scenes and he's agreed to watch it. He also hates subbed, so that was another obstacle for him. Subbed or dubbed doesn't matter to me, I just prefer dubbed if the voices are annoying in the subbed version, none of the voices in HxH are bad though.

google only shows 5 filler episodes in the original, and imo, none of them felt like filler at all.
they really only extend on certain parts of the hunters exam. i always enjoyed that part of the story as well.

Much scene are filler.

if he's bothered by the "kiddy" aspect of it, tell him to watch the original version, not the 2011 one.
