Everyone says its amazing and its the best and its just soooo good.

i didn't start watching it yet but it don't seem that amusing. I mean pirates? And doesn't seem like alot of cool attacks the main cast can use.

what really puts me off is pirates. I dunno sounds really weird

i thought the same, and i didn't really like the art style either

then my friend just had some volumes of manga just sitting around and i read a few volumes and BAM

hooked :O

i personally think it's better than say naruto or bleach due to its story and character development

the pirate is just a word. the way it is defined in one piece is far different from the normal definition

my favorite part is that character development is vast and deep

the storyline is a masterpiece. something that happens in episode 2 or 3 reappears in episode 490 or omsething liek that

it's good :santa:

despite the childish artwork, the underlying ethics, philosophy, morality, etc. etc. is extremely well-composed.

it really challenges ones thoughts on stuff like racism, chasing a dream, love (not like man to woman love, but like family kind of love), and the fact that every single character is well-developed, you see a situation from like 10+ different angles

more challenging issues: corrupt government, 'those with power abuse power', effects of areas and islands completely isolated from outside world influence, etc. etc.

damn putting it like that i have to see it
sounds like don't judge a book by its cover scenerio.

but 680 episodes.....thats overwhelming

how are the fillers in one piece?

i love naruto,
i love bleach
i love fairy tale

think i might love one piece?

every main character, as an individual, have their own dreams and set of goals they want to achieve, and these set of people are gathered to chase their own dream. but as they adventure together for a long time, their bonds grow stronger, and realize that they need the crew as a whole to achieve individual dreams, as well as help others achieve their respective dreams.

there is the corrupt government, there is also a hidden syndicate that rebels under the shadows, etc. etc., and the enforcement of arbitrary laws set by current corrupt government that conflict with individual dreams

really challenges your belief or standpoint on something

from the 1st episode to the conclusion of the 1st major arc, there is no filler

from the 1st arc to 2nd arc, there's like 5-6 episodes of fillers.

and considering that 1st arc concludes at like aroud episode 80-90 or something, it's not much, and it doesn't hurt to just skip them either

some fillers i actually enjoyed anyways

the 2nd arc is like 100 episodes long too

and 3rd arc is ilke 150 long or someting
