I've never watched any anime before, but I've always been intrigued by it. I'd like to find a dubbed anime so that I can actually listen as it's my first one and I would rather be able to understand by listening rather than reading. Anyway, I've heard good things about Bleach and I'm currently trying the first episode... is it worth my time for a dubbed anime?

Yeah, Bleach is a pretty good anime, though it's a very long anime at over 300 episodes. Only start it if that's what you're looking for to start anime

Some parts are bad , some parts are boring , but some parts are stellar.

Google a guide on which parts of bleach are filler and completely skip those with no remorse.

Just start with something good like Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Bleach is too long and repetitive

Death note is a good starter.

Or you can actually watch a show and enjoy it.

you could watch several of 'gundam' anime: giant robots fighting each other

some that I liked i think they are all available in eglish (and I didn't like many):

Cowboy Bebop - rated 10 by imdb, about a space mercenary in the future
Dragon Ball - very long series, incredibly popular, everyone knows it, about superhuman fighters
Hellsing - about an vampire turned good that fights evil creatures
Trigun - about a funny guy that is actually very tough and has a bounty of 10billion dollars in his head
Ghost in the Shell - there is a complete anime not just movies, different! is about an organization of police cyborgs
Slayers - with magic like Dungeons and Dragons
Berserk - about a guy with a giant sword who kills alot of people with it
Captain Harlock - about a pirate in outer space
Cat's Eye and Lupin3 - comedies about thieves
Iron Man - the anime
