yes i am 3 episodes into it and my first impression is that the story is great and interesting , the characters are cool and hilarious.
this anime + the sidestory contains everything you could ask for.
It's a little Ecchi , funny , brutal , crazy , badass , supernatural and harem well kinda... not rlly... idk... a few flags will be raised...

If manga is not your thing.. then the answer is yes, totally worth watching.

Or read the book which is frankly the better choice. Takes a while but is so worth it.

There are three sources for getting the same material. Book, anime and manga.
The book has two series with the first being 22+2 books long and the second being eight books long and is currently ongoing.
The anime only got to volume 13 plus one special volume (SS1)
The manga is like around volume 7.

If you end up liking the series from watching the anime that got animated and mixed up chronologically by JC Staff, go read the LNs

Worth watching but the railgun side is better imo.
