You should try to avoid the filler-filled garbage at all costs. Took me awhile before I realized that.

If there are tons of episodes of a show, then it basically becomes fan service/filler

I would say start with anime that are below 100 episodes so you can watch more variety of stuff.



Naruto also has a lot of filler.

I don't know anything about Shippuden so I didn't bring that up.
