So i have found a show that I love called Hunter x Hunter. I am sure many of you already know of it. I watched one episode thought it was weird and then kept watching and got hooked and finished the episodes 1-92 in two weeks. I finished episode 93 today (final Greed Island episode) and there are no episodes left but the story goes on! I know that it was originally a manga but looking a little into the history I think the series i watched was the Nippon animation one of 62 episodes and then 31 OVAs or something like that. Anyway I NEED to keep watching but I need help on what to watch. I know there was a recent series made in 2011 but I really don't want to go into that and be massively dissapointed if they changed the characters too much/voices/story line etc and if its recent they might not even be that far into the show.

I think there is even a movie on it too. But the most important thing i need help with is what show/series can i continue off from where Greed Island left off with the same character/ voice actors. I'm hoping reading the manga isn't the only way.

Thanks!!!

You should probably restart from ep 1 on 2011 because the VAs are quite different and take some getting used to. The pacing is like 1.5-2x overall faster than the first series so it wont take that long to catch up. Other than the first episode and the ep after GI, the 2011 story line is closer to the manga (the first series was still quite close).

thread for the 2011 versions: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=65969277&f=198

You could pick it up right on episode 76 which is right after where the ovas end (from the original ova's)

by the way the 2011 version follows the manga more closely (but does skip some parts from the manga early on but it doesn't have filler in the early episodes)
It is currently in the next arc after Greed Island called Chimera Ant Arc

Personally I would have recommended you started the 2011 version from the start for the better animation, adaptation, and to get used to the new voices.

Thanks a lot! Yeah I found this information on google:
The episodes of Hunter X Hunter anime goes like this:
Hunter X Hunter - 62 episodes
Hunter X Hunter OVA - 8 episodes
Hunter X Hunter: Greed Island - 8 episodes
Hunter X Hunter: Greed Island Final - 14 episodes

So I guess i might try a few of the 2011 episodes to get used to it because it will be worth it so i can see the CA arc I hope.

The Chimera Ant Arc is really dark compared to the rest of the series I really suggest watching it. My favorite part of the series. You should just start 2011 version from the start it is very fast paced for the first 75 episodes that you will catch up very quickly plus by the time you catch up more episodes will be out.

Opening for the CA arc:

^ It's best if you follow what he did.

I watched from scratch from both, and honestly I liked the VA's better in 2011.
