is there a way to set the audio to the japanese track w/o having to do it every time i open a new video?

No, ever video comes with a pre-loaded audio track on start up.

Unless you're watching a legit dvd, then there's probably settings in the DVD menu

or stop downloading dual audio

or he could use MPC cause i'm pretty sure it has an option to auto start the video on specific languages if available

You could try this

> Tools
> Preferences
> Audio

At the bottom, there's a section called "Tracks" and "preferred audio language."
I don't think it'll work that well unless it's a formatted playlist but it's worth a shot.
