manga is translated into English if you're interested.

Sales were horrible. No season 2.

if its true, then you have a sliver of hope if it boosted the manga sales by alot.

seasons aren't really determined by the # of bds the anime sells, they also check into if the LN/mangas started to sell alot also.

Right, for example Chihayafuru has exceptionally bad sales from what they expected I hear yet they still went for a second season. I heard it had an unfortunate fate though; the air time slot it got wasn't inline with the time that most of the target audience would be able to watch it.
I am kind of surprised with how successful anime tends to be still despite a lot of them having air times like 23:00 to 03:00

i'm pretty sure sword art online had very good/probably one of the best SALES ever, yet there is no season 2.
