Really bored, haven't watched a good anime in a long while.

I like something that is like the shonen type (getting stronger throughout/typical bad guy)

Something with good music

Anime's I like:
Yu Yu Hakusho
Hunter x Hunter
DBZ
Gurren Lagann
Rurouni Kenshin
Naruto (Pre Time Skip)
Bleach (Soul Society Arc)

Anime's I didn't like:
FMA Brotherhood
Samurai Champloo
Inuyasha
Death Note
Naruto Shippuden

Watched the whole series

Only enjoyed the last two seasons

Even then it wasn't that amazing to me

How is D. Gray Man? I heard that'd pretty good.

D. Gray Man only has around 50 episodes dubbed the other 50 are not dubbed.
It starts off pretty slow but picks up and gets better after 30 or so episodes. The anime ends without an ending and to get more u will have to read the manga.

So out of

Angel Beats
Darker Than Black
Trigun

Which would you say would be the best for satisfying the typical shonen (villains, training, getting stronger, etc)

I didn't mention it before but Kenichi fits what you are looking for and it is on Netflix
and Soul Eater had forgotten that is on netflix also

D. Gray Man because the rest are very different
Angel Beats is a comedym/action anime.
Darker Than Black is an action/superpower anime more seinen than shounen.
Trigun - action/comedy but no training since he is already awesome
Initidal D i guess fits but its about racing xD

if anime you are looking for isn't limited to onloy Netflix I could reommend some stuff you might like
One Piece
Fairy Tail
Toriko

For Netflix I suggest Last Exile and Blood+

Both are slow to start but pick up the pace really quick after first couple/few episodes
