i find most of these characters fit the same boring predictable cliche personality types and rarely get the depth of character development their male counterparts can get

i think the only female character i've really liked in recent years has been hitagi senjougahara

Any female character that does not need male help in order to be functional in the story.

Saeko busujima, revy, gits girl, etc. All the female badasses are likeable imo.
