Hey guys,

First time posting in this section. I have watched the Berserk and Claymore series twice and really enjoyed them.
I have done some searching on my own, but have had trouble finding something on their level.

I did enjoy Vampire hunter D bloodlust as well.

I like a more serious anime, blood, good story. I dislike the "Eye's as big as their head" anime.


Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks alot!

I want to say Blood, but the latest Blood season sucked story wise.

Vampire Hunter D has 2 movies, bloodlust and a 1985 movie

Are those the first 2 anime you've ever seen?

If so, check out Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai X, Ninja Scroll, Yu Yu Hakusho, FLCL.. I'm not into much anime but these and some more I'm forgetting are the best out there imo. Forget about most (not all) of those high school bs story lines, loliporn, etc.

Also, they are remaking Berserk and taking it into where the series ends and into the manga so keep an eye out for that.

As for Elfen Lied and Monster, I always saw them highly praised but really disliked both.

The old lady and i have tried watching Elfin Lied as we heard it was uber bloody, but could not get into it. Its a roller coaster, as in really badass for a minute, then really gay.
I have seen Ninja Scroll and that's a great one!

I checked out the trailers on youtube for all of anime mentioned and i think i will check out the following.

Ghost in the Shell
Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate
Blood: the last vampire


Any other reccomenations? i really liked the sword and medieval feel of Claymore and Berserk!
