Dangan Ronpa, put simply is, the game 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors meeting Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and also meeting Battle Royale. Now, think about that for a minute, and let your imagination soar, because it’s probably going to be more or less what this game is. Yeah, a mystery where kids kill kids, get stuck in a school of “despair”, as put by the title, and where they have to find who kills who to escape.

Of course, since you’ve never heard of it, it’s probably because it’s in Japanese and you can’t understand moonrunes. Well, that’s okay, because orenronen of the Something Awful Forums is doing a Let’s Play of the game, complete with translations and little notes on Japanese culture just for you. It’s currently incomplete, with 4 and a a bit more than half chapters completed out of 6.

If you’ve ever liked the games I put above, you’ll probably like reading Dangan Ronpa a lot— it’s basically a visual novel with some gameplay elements put into it, and it’s great, as I’ve said, without spoiling anything.

Do you think it is worth reading the Lets Play, or should I just wait to watch the anime in 2013?

With video game adaptations you dont HAVE to , but it would more than likely be a better experience if you did . If you have time I would read the Let's Play .
