Avoid everything rated over 8.0 on MAL. It's a simple rule that every anime fan should know.

Seriously though, SAO is a complete mess and embarrassing to watch and yet it manages to be pretty entertaining.

I have been taking a short break from it tho.. I think i'm 3 episodes behind.

I don't think it makes sense to either do something or avoid doing something, based on its popularity, at all.

it could be

1) Its getting the recognition that it deserves and that's why its popular
2) Its just bunch of people who are hopping on the bandwagon
3) Its total garbage ,but appealing to the viewer's mass

It's really good. I read the light novels, which I enjoyed alot for the most part. The anime would be good if I didn't think it moved superslow compared to me reading 2-3 volumes in a day vs an episode that covers 1/10th of a volume every week

I hate waiting
