What was the anime that got you into anime?

No, childhood animes such as DBZ,Pokemon,Digimon do NOT count,
i mean like the first anime you saw that you realized you're hooked and you want more.

this as well.

i watched some american cartoons, but they are almost all aimed at kids. so they follow standard good guy wins plots with minimal violence. in spiderman for example, they use lasers instead of bullets and he almost never throws a punch. there are a few adult cartoons, but they tend to be comedy. i like satirical comedies like south park, but i have zero interest in the sexualized comedies like archer.

then you watch death note and it's like

complex storyline, lots of people dying, good vs evil where evil wins, nice 20ish min episodes (unlike 45 min live action in america where you get bored quickly). and since i like horror/scifi, you can make nice cartoons for low budget, whereas live action requires a lot of money and very cheesy CGI which ruins the movie.

My mistake, childhood friend got me into watching it.

She's the reason I got hooked on the school girl nonsense.

Bleach, saw some friend watching at school and asked him for the episodes xD
got hooked on anime since then i guess

um i started on pokemon/digimon lol but i went to toonami after that
then at some point i was like oh shit watch all anime

Bleach was the first anime I actually watched from start to finish, but before that I watched Toonami (Samurai Jack, DBZ, etc) and old adult swim shows
