Are short animes made from long running mangas??
I recently finished watching deadman wonderland and today i watched all the current episodes of SOA.
ofc i started reading the manga, but why only cram 200 volumes of a great manga and turn it into a 10-30 episode anime.
i have nothing against reading the mangas but ofc i enjoy watching them even more, but i hate how alot of good shows get crammed into short sessions which almost always kill off some characters and/or dont fully explain situations.
makes me a sad little boy.

think about it from the perspective of a studio that is producing it. Just by making an anime they are taking a risk. You don't make more unless it is widely popular.

Also keep in mind the author and the story. If the studio only wants to do x episodes, sometimes the story has to change. If the studio gave free reign (highly doubtful) then obviously you would have to worry about filler etc.

I am sure there are a lot of reasons bro.
