Ive seen a ton of animes about school life, and it seems like none of the characters behave like they do in America. They don't drink, do drugs or any of that shit. Is it really like that in Japan? Should I move to Japan when I have kids so they won't turn into scum bags when they get into highschool?

Statistically, drug crime is much lower than equally industrialized countries. Gun crime is very low because guns are exceptionally difficult to acquire as handguns are banned to the public, but violent crime is still appreciable.

So how is alcohol/drug among teenagers and high schoolers there compared to USA? Almost minimal?

I would assume alcohol is still an issue, but drugs as a whole are a MUCH smaller problem.

The anime you watch is sterotyped heavily by what Japanese writers think is whats going on in other countries.

afaik parents are pretty damn strict in Japan
