is there a word for the altered graphics when used for comedic effect? character faces change shape and lose details

here's an example of what i'm talking about


to my memory it wasn't in dbz, death note, code geass, elfen lied, or baccano. this is the first time i came across it then i saw it again in chrome shelled regios so I'm guessing it's a common anime thing to do?

i was referring more to the way the characters become unrecognizable. the pudgy face, beady eyes, triangular teeth and such. first time i saw it i thought they went through some transformation or something haha.
