gurren lagann is 2 seasons of epic
first and second season of higurashiare also epic

death note and monster are not to short either and is some of the mainstream animes I would actually recommend

and shakugan no shana if you are into action/romance

/e madoka magic if you are into that

and Railgun/index

bold = 3 of my favorite animes of their genres.. 3 of my favorite animes in general.
