I'm loving it so far, but it hasn't gotten me hooked as much as Yu Yu Hakusho, because the fights have seemed a little lame so far.

I'm on about episode 42 right now, after I finish the 62 episodes should I start watching the OVA's in order? does it follow the series right after the episodes and are they just as good as the actual series?

Also does the show get even better? I like it so far, but I wish the fights would be a bit more entertaining. and I kind of wish there were more antagonists besides just the clown guy or will more interesting stuff happen later on?

The OVAs are sequels, so yes you should watch them in order, and yes it continues with the story.

Hmm I was liking it then I got to OVA 2 with the Greed Island stuff

I watched the OVA 2 and OVA 3, but I thought they were horrible tbh. I hated every episode in both of these OVA's. wtf happened to the show it went downhill there completely for me.

It was a training arc and it comes after the best arc in the anime.
