There's no difference whatsoever between the endings in the different versions. A fanmade shot of the carriage's driver being Lelouch is floating around somewhere but that is nothing more than speculation.

It's a popular opinion that they hid a few hints that points to the possibility that he didn't die but the show (R2 in particular) had so many plot holes, inconsistencies and weird twists that it's hard to know what was intended and what wasn't.
