***Spoiler Ahead***

So I just finished watching it, and I was satisfied with the anime til the end when Reiji drops (and I'm assuming dies). Why did he die? I don't understand. Why did Eren have a smile on her face, da fuq?
I want to ask those who have not only seen the anime, but read it; how does the ending compare? What really happens in the manga because honestly I don't want to read it.. I just want to know what really happens in this story.

I raged like hell at the ending too lol, ending fucked up so much that I just can't bring myself to read the manga.

It really was fucked up.. I feel like I got trolled, and it's been bothering me so much. I just wanna know what happens in the manga, but I don't want to read it lol.. that's why I posted on here.

Reiji goes to mongolia with Ein and find her homeland along their journey Reiji gets a raging boner and decides to make a move but gets friend zoned by Ein.

The anime was adapted from A VISUAL NOVEL, NOT A MANGA.

You can read up on the endings to the visual novels, I can guarentee that the anime had the best ending

i think manga is technically an art form, encompassing both visual novels and serializations
its possible where you got confused (if this is true) is the jargon used to further specify

ya i was kinda disappointed as well, just finished watching it yesterday. but...eh.
