Looking for episode and anime from which this story comes from.

The protagonist has an eye that can copy others magic. People are afraid of his kind.. That's the anime..

The story and episode I'm looking for within that is..

One character has been alone for such a long time... Then he somehow "gets" a friend from somewhere... I think there was a certain amount of time he could have his friend before he disappeared... In the end he was lonelier than ever and wished that he had never wished for that friend to being with.
