I am your host, Eep, and I will explain very carefully these things:
Section I: What is this?

If you have ANY QUESTIONS after reading this, please feel free to PM me!Section I: What is this?This is a CREATIVE WRITING contest I came up with. Entrants will be tasked with creating one of three types of submissions, and have them judged by me (and possibly 2-3 other unbiased judges)
Some things to note:
The contest starts AS SOON as this thread is created!
The deadline is January 10th, 2012

All you need to do is create one of the three valid submissions, and PM it/email it to me (Eep on d2jsp, Eep1337@yahoo.com) [I would prefer a PM if possible, but I understand some things are formatted in such a way that I need to download them]
What are the valid submission types?THESE ARE THE *THREE* TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS I WILL BE WILLING TO ACCEPT!
1) A MANGA/4 KOMA or COMIC STRIP ( I can offer an example IF NEEDED )-Some examples would be:

2) A SHORT STORY
3) A "BLUEPRINT" ( Will delve more into this below )First of all, the
MANGA submission
--Creator will be tasked with creating
x amount of manga/4 koma/comic pages to create a story.--Creator will also be tasked with
designing their own art OR using various images from the internet to get their story told.--You may
NOT use an existing manga page, erase most of it, and start working from there.
It must be ORIGINAL!Second, the
Short Story--Must be 1 full page in length, minimum.
--Creator should make good use of bold/italics/underlining/quotes and have a good understanding of the English language as well as basic writing skills.
Lastly, the
BLUEPRINT--Creator will offer up a BLUEPRINT for what could be a story/show/manga.
--Blueprint will consist of these things:
___A Setting (TIME PERIOD, OUR UNIVERSE OR AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, THEME)
___Characters (BACKGROUND, DESIGN, PERSONALITY, ETC)
___Goal of the story (WHO? WHAT? WHERE? WHEN? WHY? HOW etc...Mostly WHY?)
___Vivid Descriptions of places/people/things mentioned
--Overall, a "BLUEPRINT"; there is no actual STORY required, but there should be a goal in mind (For example, in ONE PIECE, the goal is for the pirates to find a legendary hidden treasure)
Section 3: How will I be judged?A good question! The short answer: BY ME! Buahaha.
But seriously. The submissions will be judged by me and maybe a panel of 2-3 judges. The rubric will look something like this: (Out of 100 points)

Originality (30 points)-(Like I said, this is HUGE! Force the judges to use their brain! Make us laugh! Do something interesting! This will net you HUGE points!)

Ease of imagination (20 pts)-(This means how easy is it for a judge to picture what you write in his or her head. For example, adding more details to help judges picture a town or a character. Applies mostly to short story/blue print)

Ease of understanding (20 pts)-(This means how well you explain key ideas of the story. Points will be deducted if, for example, you mention something which needs thorough explanation, but leave it vague or ambiguous [ That is, a KEY point to the story. Something that's intended to be vague is fine. ]

Incorporation of Anime/Manga archetypes/themes (20 pts)-(What forum was this contest for again? Oh, yeah!)

Miscellaneous (10 pts)-(Judges will be offered a range of 10 pts to add or deduct as they see fit. Sort of like an 'overall impression'. If you did a pretty good job, you will get a pretty good amount of points.)
Section 4: Any prizes?Wouldn't be fun without those!
I am willing to use any and ALL fg I HAVE at the time the contest ends to spend on prizes.I will be
ACCEPTING DONATIONS from now until Jan 17th strictly for this contest. If you are feeling like a philanthropist, help me out! This is all for the entrants, after all...
(NOTE: Judges [If I pick any extras] will be given a FG gift as good will.)
Section 5: A sum of events-You will be tasked with creating ANY of the submissions around some sort of anime or manga list of genres.
Such genres might include: Romance, psychological, mystery, adventure, action, etc.-This is a CREATIVE task! I am NOT looking for fiction writers or english majors to participate solely (though they are free to enter)....
I am mostly looking for a story or series that is ORIGINAL and INTERESTING.-This will be JUDGED by ME, and MAYBE a panel of 2-3 judges (depending on if the contest actually happens, and there are people I trust with the job)

---JUDGES MAY NOT VOTE ON ENTRIES FROM SOMEONE ON THEIR FRIENDS LIST OR GUILD
-THIS IS A CONTEST! THERE WILL BE PRIZES! I am willing to use almost all the FG I have depending on how many entries there are. The more entries, the bigger the prize! (DON'T FORGET TO DONATE :D)
-Again, and again, I WILL EMPHASIZE THE NEED FOR ORIGINALITY. I understand most things manga/anime related are tough to curb around orignality wise, but just don't use the EXACT same formula or character personalities from some other work (Like if you made a character who is thought for thought the same as like, gutts from berserk)
-You must be able to type in coherent english. I will not deduct a chance of winning from anyone for grammar, UNLESS it's to the point where I cannot understand what they are trying to convey. If you are having trouble, please PM me and I will see if I can help you.
[b]Also, yes, this is most definitely ANIME/MANGA themed!]/b] Keep that in mind when creating it (and how japanese writers/artists do their work...there are certain culture themes and character archetypes used often in animes and mangas!) [An example of a character archetype would be the wise old man, or the moody/silent but strong willed main character, or a happy-go-lucky school girl etc]
