Pretty sure it's following same storyline. Since tatsumi still got caught in colosseum and the commander in chief + esdeath are executing him. Mine goes to save him and yeah.

oh. Im behind like 3-4 episodes. I heard it skipped the minister's son arc, then goes on. However, at this point, doesnt the anime have to pick its own ending? The mangaka usually doesnt work for the anime companies. From previous series, the anime writers draft their own ending and then the mangaka gives a yay or nay. Then he goes on to write his own ending on the manga
