where the girl is obssesed or clingy or head over heals so to speak in an abnormal fashion to the boy protag.

It's pretty good I guess but I'd definitely recommend you to check out the manga version instead. Personally gave the anime 6/10 and the manga 9/10.

I am thinking after I finish my current anime im starting to maybe watch legend of the galactic heroes

but I have a few question if anyone can answer them that would be great :)

1. is it mecha
2. will the fact that it was made in the early 90's be a problem ( like some animes are conisdered classics just because of there age but the animation quality is so terrible that it really isn't worth watching)
3. is it filled with fillers

and also is it worth watching becuase it is 110 ep's

umm also about your comment to that guy you said that gto was only a decent anime (I don't read manga) so would it just be better to not watch that but maybe something else?(because that is the anime I was planning on currently starting)

1. No, but they mostly fight in spaceships.
2. I'm not sure. The art design is fantastic but the animations themselves are outdated (especially in the first season) and will probably take time getting used to. It does get progressively better though and actually looks really good by the end of the show.
3. There's no fillers whatsoever.

I really think so, but it doesn't go well with everyone's taste. If you like the sound of a slow-paced but thrilling show about political and social intrigue and strategic warfare then you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. It's one of those shows that I think everyone needs to watch, but not everyone is ready for.

What I'd advice for you to do is to watch the prequel movies "My Conquest Is the Sea of Stars", which takes place before the main OVA's, and then "Overture to a New War", which is a more detailed movie version of the first two episodes.
The former movie has the same animation quality as you can expect in the beginning of the actual show and the latter has what you can expect by the end of it. Make sure to watch them both and then decide if you want to give the main OVA's a shot.

It's my highly personal opinion of course, but I don't think the comedy, episodic format and character badassery works nearly as good in the anime. It also doesn't have a proper conclusion.
Still, it might be more appealing to those who aren't familiar with the awesomeness of the manga version. The 8.83 mean score has to be there for some reason.
