Itachi and Kisame werent even going to try Jiraiya at the SAME TIME cos they knew they would lose, yet Itachi can beat Orochimaru and Orochimaru can beat the 3rd

itachi and kisame didnt try against jiraiya due to fact that their characters were stilll not well thought out yet
obviously if you bring shippuden into this, itachi could easily slam jiraiya with susanoo and kisame in his samehada form

sage mode is voided due to fact that jiraiya could hardly maintain it and had to use frogs to help him use it
