I personally loved angel beats, but it is boring to people who don't enjoy episodic anime (although it does have a story). Heres a few you should like:

-Chrome shelled regios/koukaku no regios
-If you haven't seen hellsing ultimate, do so, it's much better
-Monster
-Welcome to the nhk (not sure if you'll like, but since you liked gto, why not)
-Spice and wolf
-Toriko if you want something like hxh/naruto/op

Can't think of much more, but hope you like em.

I fell in love with sword art online faster than all the other animes I've ever seen, and I want something very similar to it, with maybe a bit more romance if possible.

if i listed a series that has multiple seasons just assume i watched them all (didnt want to clutter it up)

looking for something with a story that moves along and something that makes you think about just what happened and why it happened that way. (ex: higurashi, deathnote, schooldays)
also animes with a serious plot and sad endings are also enjoyed.

was thinking ghost in the shell but i havent decided. overall dark serious plot with sad endings and makes you think. thanks for the help

If you liked sora no otoshimono, you'll most definitely like kore wa zombie desu ka.

-Ergo proxy (very thought-provoking)
-Berserk if you haven't. (Recommend reading it though since anime is pretty old, but still good)
-Darker than black (season 2 isn't the best, just a heads up)
-Deadman wonderland
-Monster
-Steins;gate/chaos;head
-Bakemonogatari/nisemonogatari

And if you want an angel beats sort of story, you can watch that Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (i thought they both felt the same way).

thanks my girlfriend also recommended ergo proxy and darker than black. i did some searching and i found out about monster but theres only 640x480 versions available which is a big boner kill. although the story might make up for that.

its a toss up between ergo proxy and darker than black. or maybe Mirai Nikki (the future diary). not sure yet. thanks for the suggestions though im sure ill pick one of them tomorrow.
