Yep, people don't understand family trees at all. Then again, the fact that no bloodline ever remains "pure" over the generations really makes the whole bloodline limit thing in naruto seem rediculous. Ok so you might be a distant descendant of the original uchiha, but for every non incest based branch of that family tree, your percentage of "uchiha blood" is cut in half. At what point does it become watered down to the point of uselessness. Also how could someone so far down the line wind up being a greater master of their bloodline limit than their predecessors.
In the end it's an anime, hurray for fiction, and the ridiculous laws of nature that are involved.
