Well we know that he most likely wouldn't. But Pitou and Pouf don't know that, and after his emotional display its no wonder why. On top of that, Gon is only in a position of power because of the politics of the situation, not because he has surpassed Pitou

kings aura compared to his is similar to how hisoka's aura could have killed gon and killua back at the tower

youpi has evolved in the fight because he was raging
he couldn't control his emotions at first but while he was fighting he eventually was able to control it and he evolved
so i guess that gon's currently state and burst of emotion is also evolving him in some sort of way
