Can someone tell me which episodes are fillers as I'd rather avoid those while watching and attempting to catch up on this show. I'm currenly on episode 48 and read that fillers start around 50 but I don't recall the rest.

The only one's I skipped are the japanese off-topic episodes and during the Enes Lobby crew recap's which are muuch later then what you're on.

Meanwhile Smoker seems pretty content where he's at. 

Plus smokers just a logia.  Not much beyond that.  Not even a truly deadly one.  Smoke is relatively harmless, whereas magma, ice, fire, etc are fairly deadly just in themselves.

Just because it's filler doesn't mean it doesn't have some good parts in it. 

I enjoyed G-8 and luffy's battle scene with the guy who had the hot hot fruit.
