The dates are weird. They always release it on the second Wednesday in January. This year, they released it on the third Wednesday. I'm positive it has something to do with the fact that the first Wednesday was the 2nd of the month.

the commander said 2000 years i thought(since he created the academy, it could be 1000 though) however he said not a single shinigami BORN IN SOUL SOCIETY(would have to check for the correct words) is stronger. so if unohana was born before then she could technically be stronger than him and so could anyone who was born before then. just speculation ofc

Well she was born before then, she helped create it along with him. And Squad 11 has always been the squad of Kenpachi (strongest Shingami) so that would make sense.

I've been saying Unohana was #2 to Yamamoto since I took a look at the database. Her strength is ridiculous. I'm actually very pleased with her backstory. It's cool to know she was a ruthless killer that turned into a calm healer.

Its still speculation i mean even that yammato is the strongest in the manga(shinigami wise, i would assume the spirit king has him beat and if he turns out to be evil it shouldnt be power that outplays him but liek aizen some sort of strategy). in terms of using databooks i mean that just means they meet the necessary requirements it really comes down to experience and the matchups ofc logically speaking luck plays a huge role too. however yes i do believe with this new revelation of her being the first kenpachi and so ruthless while roaming around with the commander its a pretty safe assumption to put her in the top 3(i do believe aizen beats her, this is from his own words or actually of his lack of words) aizen said kisuke was the only one who intellectually bested him and i do believe the commander in terms of battle prowess(this is very vague as he just didnt mention being "afraid" of anyone else)

Hrm wonder how ichigo got his zanpakto is it just an offshoot of rukias meh questions questions questions!

ishida/ichigos family/fullbringer(specifically when the hell did book of the end dude die)/soul king/aizen/bankais/other vizards/quincies/juha and commander story/unohana/kenpachi lots of lovely things this is shaping up to be an amazing end!

Unohana has always been #2 i called it years ago (literally). if not the strongest.
I would like to agree with the person who said that no one in 1000 years has been born stronger then Captain commander.
He may have been a ruthless leader, but truth be told he isn't the strongest of his time. It was said that he used every advantage in his possession before the academy came to be, just like Aizen, he was strategically smart and he was overpoweredly strong at the same time. I mean he just got his ass handed to him by Juha Bach, he isn't that strong. I would put him on equal footing to Unohana and Zaraki after they go bloodthirsty beserker mode. God i hope we see more cool stuff from those 2, they are signal handedly keeping the manga going for me.

Apparently shunsui knows a whole damn lot about soul society's history. Not only that, it looks like hes got that ruthless attitude that captain commander had. Looks like he's going to be serving a can of whoop ass soon. If Shunsui is as smart as i think he is, Ukitake must be a whole lot smarter and he must know just as much as Shunsui. Looks like those 2 will be very key in later episodes.

I just realized, if only a few people have truly mastered their zanpakuto, who has done it...

ALSO: i forgot to say that if kisuke knows about that 0 divison healing guy's methods.. then he should know a lot more also. Chances are he's the smartest and biggest enigma the manga has right now. he's has knowledge that half the captains don't even know.. more then half i should actually say. He's met and trained with many 0 divison members, even making counterfits of some of their methods. Not only that he has Yoruichi and ichigos dad for muscle. and more resource. thumbs up for him.

commander lost thx to his bankai being stolen and used against him aka the same thing aizen did to beat him use his own power against him because its so fucking ridiculous. not to mention he fought someone before fighting juha bach.

and again unohana hasnt been proven as the strongest or a close 2nd and i am quite certain due to her not engaging aizen he is a cut above her too. then we have shunsui i would include ukitake but his sickness just doesnt permit it

take zaraki for instance he's the current kenpachi but clearly unohana outranks him along with aizen the commander(fake juha bach raped kenpachi) and i mean at this point we can say him and byakuya are equals(early in the manga they had a rivalry and again with fighting the zero espada) so that strongest is very loosely and may actually mean strongest in physical combat
