We also don't know why they haven't used their bankai's. There is a reason that CC didn't use his bankai vs Aizen, it's because the immense power of it would have destroyed the place they were fighting at. For that reason alone, we might be able to assume that the other captains are hiding their bankais for a reason. for exmaple Shunsui is hiding his because it should not be shown in public, as said by ukitake , I believe that Ukitake doesn't use his bankai because it would put to much strain on his body because of his scoliosis (i think??). Unohana hasn't had to use hers because her shikai is more then enough for healing people.

Also, i do agree that most captains bullshit most fights because of their pride, but we have to realize that some captains HAVE to use their bankais to fight their enemies (Komamura/Byakuya) and on the other hand some captains don't have to because their shikais are far strong enough to handle the situation. (Aizen, CC, Ukitake) Etc. etc. Then there is the meat head zaraki who just fucks shit up by flexing.

It might also be said that the captains were just fighting round 1 to see what they were up against, so obviously using your full power would be unwise.

Back to the Anime, i think Urahara has broguht the strongest of the arrancar to this meeting, Halibel, Grimjow, and neliel. I believe those 3 will be part of the upcoming war.

The real thing that has been on my mind tho is who are the last of the 5 war potentials, we have Ichigo, Zaraki, and Aizen. That leaves 2, i'd easily give 1 of those spots to Uryu's dad. The last one could be almost anyone, Urahara looks like he has a good chance, Ishinn and yoruichi might also be put into the mix. I can't really think of anyone else other then those 4 for the last 2 spots.

i mean in previous fights of course. The newest developments make it obvious that using a bankai is a bad idea.
Many of the captains dont even need their bankai to fight at the level of some captains and clearly some of the sternritters.
well i guess i can't assume much about the sternritters considering that we don't know much about them. But most don't seem all to powerful

Zaraki smashed 3 of them without a problem. I also think its safe to assume that if the captains hadn't used their bankais they might have been able to take the sternritters 1v1.
of course this is all speculation.

alright captains these guys do something to bankais we dont know what but lets find out 5 of us lets use our bankai and determine this not renji not one of the weaker guys to test and not just one of us use bankai lets all use bankai! seems like a legit plan to me

i don't know why but i never liked the 2nd captain soi fon. seems like she has too much bark and not enough bite to back it up. and i thought she lost her arm during her fight with the espada.

she just always annoyed me espicially when her shikai only works on people weaker than her...

I would've been much happier if it was Ulquiorra in soul society instead of those fullbringers.
