There are plenty of plausible reasons why he wasn't promoted to Zero squad. It's probably just a balance of power thing. Why would he leave to make Soul Society weaker just to make the strongest division that much stronger?

I get a feeling that Isshin still has some type of role in all of this, maybe he was previously part of Zero Division. I feel that Ichigo will somehow also become part of Zero Division, his power is way above any of the captains and continues to increase. Not sure what will happen with the whole his sword being destroyed while in bankai and once its repaired like they compared to Renji that it is not as strong.

Definitely feel the newer chapters are some of the better ones lately, at least they are building a cliffhanger feeling each week.

Yes. The old captain of squad 12 was Kirio (the big girl)

He is probably not as important to bring as those 3, he's in a coma so it's not like he will be waking up any time soon. As compared to those 3 there just hurt badly, and can fight again once revived.
