Just curious, why you think that some small history behind Jiraya is such a bad thing? He has had involvement in Naruto's growth and is a main sub character. They do this with all the sub characters who are part of the main story. I know everyone wants to see the action that this show has to offer, but I think that character development is good and is a must when you have a show that has been running this long.

and we also find out the book jar writes was bout pain not naruto the 4th just liked it a lot and named naruto after the character in the book

so in a way naruto is named after Nagto "pain"

Obviously they have to tell Jiraiyas past and why he is what he is now before the climax.

You can stop posting here now. You're just like all the other retards that only want fighting in an anime with no story. If you couldn't see that the Jiraiya Gaiden added a lot of character development then you are an idiot. After the next bunch of episodes you will see even more why the Jiraiya Gaiden was necessary.

Jiraiya is my favorite Naruto character by far, I'm quite happy with these Jiraiya episodes. Was a bit curious to see how he became so powerful, would have liked to see more training with Sarutobi and when Jiraiya was training the 4th.
