i think you missed the part when the pirates said this is the wrath or power of the new world,

and its been hinted at several times the new world requires a different kind of power then the current side of grand line we've seen so far so its safe to assume almost no pirate in this side of the grand line can hold a candle to those of the new world other then a select few like the super novas , shikubuka or what ever , its safe to assume average pirates in the new world are 100x > then average pirates on this side of grand line

x100 I'd wager is a slight overstatement, but the overall point is granted.
