Maybe Kubo failed to mention it. I always assumed that was her shikai because first and foremost, we haven't seen a single character 'skip' their shikai state in the story and when she brought hers out, that's what came out. I get the feeling we are going to see her fight soon, and her fighting is probably going to be godly. Even though she hasn't gotten any fighting face time, she's one of the strongest captains, if not the strongest besides Yama. Can't wait.

Her Shikai is the manta ray that flies and heals. It is noted that in a few anime's/chapters that Ukitake and Kyouraku(sp?) become submissive to her as if being afraid of her prowess. That and the fact in EVERY situation she has ever been in she has never expressed immediate nor long term concern for anything, and is calm and collected in front of enemies (even shisui and ukitake note concern, despite the fact that we know that they know they will be ok)

It's said somewhere that she has significantly higher skills in swordsmanship than ukitake and shisui... so.. Imo she's one of my favorites considering when we actually do see her go into action, it's going to be extremely emotional and grand (because she never fights even with comrades fatally wounded)

Hrm strong people not being affected by the bankai stealing makes no sense at all. kenpachi took out 3 of them with ease same with yama. so what is the point of removing small fries from the batter if the big dogs can decimate. i am certain its just ichigo and maybe the vizards. i cant see 1thousand years in the making only to allow shinigami to get stronger and be above their bankai being stolen.



correct its never mentioned in the manga its only speculation on if its a bankai or shikai. i think the 10th captain and 7th captain shikais are just as huge although the 12 is the only one with a sentient bankai to compare so far. i dont think renji the 7th or 10th shits are sentient.



she is implied to be strong as well as the 2nd captain i believe even before ukitake and the 8th but i dont recall anywhere about mention of her strength exceeding theirs. they are prolly submissive due to respect as opposed to yama which is clearly respect and his strength (they even fought him early on because they didnt believe what he was doing was right)





i dont recall but i dont think she actually performed anything onscreen outside of retracting the shikai or bankai

Aizen also did leave her alone back in the 1st arc, he could of/should of just killed/injuried her really bad back then like he did to torshio and momo. So it's obviously he's waiting to show her fight for this arc. Also that her true power is yet to be seen/know by any of the reads.

I hope she gets in the fight soon, mostly since everyone who normally doesn't fight is coming out of hidding.

That would be so funny if he trolls us like that, but I doubt he will. He's showing the people that normally don't fight that much get some 'screen time".

I still want kenpachi's shikai to awaken, if it doesnt before the end of bleach ill be angry.

I hope Kenpachi Zaraki dies, or is dead. He was cool the first 2-3 fights we've seen him in, but now it would just be boring. Let the older captains show us what they've got. Byakuya and Kenpachi have rightfully been sidelined so far.. hopefully Hitsugaya is the next one to be taken out.
