Well, when you think about a story logically, the first person to fight the main villain usually dies. It only makes sense. It gives development to the villain, showcases his abilities, and gives more incentive for the main hero to bring him down. This is the last arc and we just saw one of the captains who was most involved in the story die amongst others. I can't help but think that Kubo might pull out the stops here and kill off even more characters. It's hard to explain, but I won't be surprised by Kenpachi's fate either way. Logically, he could die in this fight here only for Ichigo to avenge him. Although, Kenpachi does have a lot going for him and he has a lot going for Kubo. No matter how bad the story ever got, Kubo could probably just draw Kenpachi in the corner of one of the panels and everything would be fixed again. My final verdict is that Kenpachi won't die simply because he is the favorite character of the story, probably by a wide margin. If Kubo were to kill him off, he would receive nothing but negative feedback for it and I doubt he's going to do that.
i dont think that counts as logic but rather just a "popular" pattern used in writing and may not even be the "norm". any who what i am saying is many fought aizen and the only one to die was gin(for all we know its him who saved ichigo lulz)
the dude with the boss says it "APPEARS" byakuya has died and we all thought kira had died too but rose seems to think otherwise
death in this manga is quite rare for the shinigamis of note
kenpachi death would be really significant in that all the other captains/liet would be like "oh shit just got real" because kenpachi is prolly second only to 1st and 8th captain(just a guess based on his shikai) in fighting without a bankai
but just going by this manga's history death wont befall kenpachi even though its the last arc

He has been receiving negative feedback each chapter for... 1-2 years? now.... so not sure if he cares too much about more negative feedback. Although I agree, putting Kenpachi in the corner of each panel would be pretty sweet.
