I don't have a MAL. I think I made one 2006, but haven't updated that one for years.
Serial experiments lain seem to have a slow pace. Correct me if im wrong
Didn't like Black Lagoon that much, too many short stories, no real OMGBBQ plot.
Don't know what to think or expect from mnemosyne ;o

Seen, found it boring. Though I liked Akagi

Lain is slow paced.

Kara no Kyoukai movies are pretty damn good. I think you'd watch them all in one go too.
Kuroshitsuji, series based around black humour, it was great, watched it also in 1 or 2 sittings.

Higashi no eden was real good, just about what I was searching for. The main character was strong, the anime made me curious, had a nice touch of casual feeling but yet intense and the plot was not thoughtless powerup idiocracy or pantsu ecchi no brain moe anime. Guess I'll keep jump on to the next recommendation.

Seen them all.

If you want to see an anime with a huge amount of potential but was canceled watch Bus Gamer (3 episodes lol)

D. Gray Man picks up pace as it progresses
Jyu-Oh-Sei (short but sweet)
You may also like Moribito if you liked animes such as Samurai Champloo
Gantz

Samurai Champloo was a good casual anime, nice fighting and all, but not what kind of anime I'm searching for right now. Though I like it.
I finished watching Gantz some time ago even though I wanted to drop it. And I should've. One of the biggest anime dissapointment for me.

I'm going to keep checking the recommendations from Aydar which seem interesting and not seen yet until I feel unsatisfied. After all, he did recommend me Baccano and FLCL which are two of my very favourite anime, shows me he somewhat got my taste :3

oh, why tank you.

If you really want something that falls into category "not for kids", try either:
Shigurui
or
Mouryou no Hako
or
Aoi Bungaku

but I warn you, these are quite far from your standard anime type + I think Mouryou~ is kind of slow paced, while Shigurui is not and got plenty of action going on in every episode and Aoi Bungaku is series consisted of shorter stories (might be slow paced at times).

If you watch these and like, I think I could try and rec you some more, but you have to watch and tell me how good they were.

Aight. Just watched ga rei zero, it was real good :3. At first I was a bit sceptic due the sci-fi stuff going on, but then I grew into the characters and the plot. I like the trust and betrayal thing. The ending was nice, I've been missing that quite a lot, a good ending. I mean... after Code Geass R2 ending, it became so much easier to get dissatisfied by other anime endings. Too bad Code Geass R2 ending was better than the whole R2 together, lawl. Do you know anything about a s2 of east of eden and ga rei zero? I mean, the game is still on, many unanswered shit around, and that butterfly kiddo is still trolling.

I guess I'll jump some recommendations and start on these three right away. Actually two, already seen Aoi Bungaku, one of my favourites. All had nice plots and its deep.

Eden of the East got some movie out, but I heard it's shit (you have to look here for yourself).
On the other hand, Ga Rei won't get s2 ever. The manga is shit (don't read it, you'll be disappointed). Mayyyyyyyybeeeeeeeeee sometime in the future, but I don't see it happening.
And I agree, it started out weird, but after the first ep I was like 'omfg, what the fuck is happening?!' and then 'omfg, WHYYYYYYYYY'.
