You should like Kanon, Clannad, Angel Beats, Suzuka, Nana and Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama.  Underlined end up together, kind of a spoiler though.

Mmm... let's see here...

I just finished watching TTGL (loved it btw) and I need something new to watch.

I haven't really watched a thorough amount of anime to dictate a specific genre I like, but the one's that I've seen so far that I've enjoyed are:

- Code Geass & Code Geass R2
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
- Death Note
- Bleach (to a certain extent.)

^ Now that I think about it, nothing too long in terms of episodes, because I'll probably just stop watching midway through if it doesn't get good.

Anything that revolves around some sort of power that fails them in the end would be great. Something like Code Geass or Death Note I guess. There's something just mesmerizing about those anime that draws me in.

Oh, and someone I saw today suggested that I watch Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo. Anybody suggest this as well? Seems interesting.

After death note I watched Claymore as a change of pace and seemed to enjoy it alot.

NEED SEMI ROMANCE is fine! Academy/School related is a PLUS!

It's not that bad, It's a great anime throughout, don't let an ending draw you 100% away from watching it in the first place.
