I seen it too, it's pretty messed up but I liked it

i just recently started watching anime and i've started really liking it and need a recommendation

the first series i watched was Kaze No Stigma, which sort of got me in to the anime scene, but the series finished incomplete
from there i tried to look up similar anime and came across Zero no Tsukaima/The Familiar of Louise the Zero

i tried it out and just yesterday i finished watching all 37 episodes of Zero no Tsukaima...it was amazing i wish it didn't end there
i really got attached to the connection between Louise and Saito

i'd love to find a similar series with a blend of seriousness/action and also romance

i've watched the first few episodes of Shakugan no Shana but i don't think that there is a complete romance between Shana and Yuji in the anime series
by googling i found that Toradora! seems similar to what i'm looking for, but i haven't watched any of it yet

go watch toradora right now. It's mainly romance, and not too much action, but it's still amazing and really good.
Slice of life rather than the "mini-adventures" that Zero no Tsukaima has, and more realisitc so to speak. I didnt like Zero because a random fantasy world that has literally no connections to that of real life cant really make you connect = much of the romance feeling is lost

it doesn't end there, you can read the light novels, though not all of 'm to date are translated and there are some differences I think.
