the general way of doing anime sigs, IIRC, is taking a 'render' (basically a cool looking shot with no background) and adding C4D's, a background, then lots of little touch up affects and this and that and yeah

I would caution you to reconsider your affinity for transparent sigs though. What you did with your drawing is one thing, however, stock and renders do not lend themselves to the style nearly as well. You'll probably see what I mean when you get photoshop.

You can try transparent work using stocks and renders, but they rarely looks good imo. Or even when they do look decent, they'd look even better if you'd just leave it within the regular dimensions.

Don't worry though, I may love transparent signature styles but I can't expect everyone to like the same style, and I'll practice in being flexible.

And why do you advise this? Do you mean if I have a bordered signature that has a protrusion coming out it won't look natural?
Not even with intense editing and smoothing?

Oh, and getting photoshop should be easy for anyone.
