how luffy charging into smoker is beyond me

Nobody's arguing that marco isn't talented. Btw, I'm up to date on the manga so I'm fully aware of how boss Marco is, but I don't necessarily think he has haki and I wouldn't jump to conclusions suggesting he could defeat whitebeard 1 on 1, even given whitebeards age.

For the sake of argument, it is possible Marco could defeat whitebeard, just not likely or supported by the storyline as of yet (from what I can currently recollect).



Perhaps both answers are correct. A fatal blow like a bullet would pass through, but a non lethal blow wouldn't damage them enough to activate the logia ability, especially if they aren't aware.

On the flip side, if they're aware of the attack they can just initiate their logia.

Right now this argument could be a false dichotomy, saying it's either A or B when other options could easily be true.

im pretty sure this is a fluke in the story oda just wanted to make a epic reunion with ace is all and thus this happened

This argument is a false dichotomy. Both are present. Which leads to suggest that both are possible, until otherwise noted.

At least that's what I would come to believe.

i retract my statement honestly i did some research and a loga user has to train there bodies to be able to absorb attacks as such its something that comes with time and experience and they can still get taken by surprised and knocked around like smoker/ace

haki users can hit logia users, otherwise its impossible
