madara would have had to get the eyes after the funeral b/c if all those bodies had missing eyes then something much bigger than a rogue uchiha would have been obvious far earlier. not to mention the leaf government knew this was gonna happen so if they saw bodies with missing eyes, they would assume itachi stole them which would have made no sense for the story or to the leaf government
i think madara just simply collected them over the 80 year time span tbh, If he fought the 1st and lost for a bigger reason like he claims he did then he has had this plan in the works before the founding of the leaf, half of those eyes could be from when the uchia and the senju were fighting almost weekly before the village and the peace agreement, there would of been loads of deaths then, and the rest could of been gathered from the 3 great ninja wars and such there is no reason to assume he got all the eyes from the uchia massacre its safe to say, most of the people killed wouldn't of even posses the shargian in that massacre
from my understanding to unlock the eyes is pretty rare among the uchia,
